Mr. Olayinka Oni is one of Nigeria’s most respected technology leaders, with nearly three decades of experience driving digital transformation, innovation, and operational excellence across the banking and technology sectors. As the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer at Sterling Financial Holdings Company PLC, he oversees group-wide operations, technology strategy, and enterprise transformation, guiding Sterling’s evolution into one of the nation’s most digitally progressive financial institutions.

Olayinka’s career spans strategic leadership roles across some of Nigeria’s foremost organizations. He previously served as Chief Digital Officer at Sterling Bank, where he led the bank’s digital evolution and pioneered the groundbreaking SeaBaaS (Secure, Efficient, Agile Banking-as-a-Service) platform, Nigeria’s first homegrown core banking system, built entirely within the country and now processing billions of transactions with zero downtime.

Before joining Sterling, he was Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Nigeria, Chief Information Officer at Wema Bank, and Vice President of IT at FCMB, having begun his career at Accenture, where he developed his foundation in consulting and systems transformation.
